Gombe state government has reviewed the curfew imposed in the state following the last Friday night deadly attack on citizens by unknown gunmen.
Under the new regulation, the 24 hour curfew imposed earlier is now reduced to 6 am to 7 pm. According to a statement from the office of the Sectary to the state Government, Alhaji Abubakar Sule Bage, the adjustment was informed by the review of the general security situation in the state capital.
“Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo enjoins residents of the metropolis and visitors alike to abide by all restrictions that attend the curfew, for the purposes of achieving durable security and peace in the state,” the statement said.
Over 10 people had been killed in the Friday night attack on the Gombe Divisional Police station by unknown gunmen.
The state commissioner of police, Mr. Orubebe Ebikeme said that two policemen, two civilians and a soldier had been injured and were now receiving treatment.
