As the House of Representatives embarked on recess to resume next week, certain members of the Green Chamber were in the news during their sittings before the recess. While some of the lawmakers have contributed immensely to the image of the Chamber, others have inadvertently contributed to the further smearing of its public perception.

The well orchestrated National Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has come and gone though leaving some political bruises waiting to be healed with some politicians who had their ambitions aborted. That Alhaji Bamanga Tukur fought and won the race and eventually emerged the PDP National Chairman, though aided immensely by the consensus arrangement midwifed by the party stakeholders with the Presidency playing a dominant role, is no longer news.

To reunite the People of Plateau state again as members of the same family is a task that must be done no matter how costly it would be for the society. The adherents of the two religious organizations, the youths, the women, civil society organizations as well as the security agencies and above all, the three tiers of government should monitor and supervise the peace process that would be started on a solidified foundation, devoid of any sentiment or bias.
