A 22-year-old man, Adeniyi Kolawole, on Friday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court charged with beating one Fasubba Taiwo to death.
The Police Prosecutor, Mr Ebenezer Ewuola, told the court that the accused had, on March 24, at about 5.30 a.m. at Odo-Ado round about, in Ado-Ekiti, killed the deceased by beating him to death.
Ewuola said that the accused, therefore, committed a crime punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code, volume 2, cap. 30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990.
The accused, who was not represented by counsel, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
