Stevie Wonder to have Hard Rock birthday |
Stevie Wonder has been announced as the final headliner of this year’s Hard Rock Calling music festival which takes place in London’s Hyde Park between June 25 and June 27. Stevie Wonder is to mark his 60th birthday by headlining this year’s Hard Rock Calling music festival. The R‘n’B legend will play the Saturday night of the event on June 26 and although he actually reaches the landmark age on May 13 plans are underway to get the expected 50,000-strong crowd at London’s Hyde Park to sing his classic hit ‘Happy Birthday’ to him. Stevie wrote the song in 1981 to campaign for the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. to become a national holiday in the US. The ‘Superstitious’ singer will be supported by Jamiroquai, James Morrison and Corinne Bailey Rae, who admits she is thrilled to be playing on the same bill as her idol. The other two nights of the Hard Rock Calling festival are being headlined by Pearl Jam and Sir Paul McCartney.
