The issue of girl child education has been discussed at several forums. But nothing will work unless a law is enacted by the National Assembly to address the problem particularly in the north. Even in the region, Jigawa and Kano states are the most disturbing cases.

The alarm raised by the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, sometime ago about plans by some Nigerians to attack and kill her and her officers was true after all. Another EFCC operative was recently attacked, the fifth in about two months.

Obasanjo responsible for the emergence of Yar’adua and Ogbulafor

Looking back to what gave rise to the present  situation in Nigeria, all that would be remembered is how the former President Olusegun Obasanjo contributed to it negatively. The former President ensured that he bequeathed a sick man as his successor at the expense of other healthy and qualified northerners like IBB, Aliyu Gusau, etc that showed interest in the plum job. Obasanjo preferred anointing to proper conduct of primaries.

Yar’adua’s nomination: Kudos to Goodluck Jonathan

When Acting President Goodluck Jonathan announced the dissolution of the Federal Executive Council, many were doubtful if he will be able to form a formidable Council that will have men and women of varied experience and background. Skeptics  are of the opinion that the acting president may eventually take a wrong step by nominating old and worn out hands into the EXCOF and consequently, take us to where we are coming from and not necessarily where we need to be.
