Hundreds dead in China quake

Latest reports said at least 300 people were killed the Yushu quake with thousands more injured At least 400 people have been killed after a strong  earthquake struck China’s western province of Qinghai, officials and state media said. Another 8,000 people were believed to have been injured as homes collapsed leaving residents of the remote mountainous area trapped under the rubble.

Israeli ‘settlers’ desecrate W Bank mosque

Palestinian security officials have said that  Israeli settlers desecrated a mosque in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli army confirmed that “anonymous suspects” scrawled graffiti, including a Jewish star of David alongside the name of the Prophet Mohammed written in Hebrew.

The coffins of late Polish president Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria Kaczynska are carried by a guard of honour of the Polish Armed Forces

Lech Kaczynski, the late Polish President, is to be buried in the Wawel cathedral of Krakow, the coronation site of the country’s kings and queens and the last resting place of saints, revolutionaries and poets, his family has decided.
