Unmistakably, the truth is glaring and cannot be suppressed forever; we salute the courage of Senator Nazif for coming out to clearly state the obvious; Yuguda’s dismal performance at the helm of affairs in Bauchi for over three (3) years. Senator Nazif has always proved to be very upright, valiant and concise disregarding who ox is gored; Thus, clearly stating that he is not egocentric and a truckling favour gainer of Mallam Isa Yuguda, this intrepid Senator has also stated that he is not a deceitful individual that wants to benefit from the resources of the State at the detriment of the impoverished masses of Bauchi State, and as such, he will never denigrate his hard earned image that was built over the years by dint of hard work, transparency, prudence and altruistic service that has culminated in his being a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing his constituency in Bauchi.
With the statement credited to this amiable Senator from Bauchi, who dogmatically took the current administration in Bauchi to the cleaners for their seeming ineffectiveness and the related betrayal of the trust bestowed on the Yuguda government by the good people of Bauchi; this affirmation was done by Nazif in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service monitored in Bauchi by Leadership.
Senator Nazif emphasised that “Governor Isa Yuguda let down the people that voted him into power in 2007 and failed to provide any meaningful development in the form of monumental projects and outstanding service delivery”. He further made free from ambiguity the statement that Yuguda does not pay attention to the advice given to him by elders, leaders and stakeholders of the party in the state, rather he prefers a confrontational posture with this citizen of impeccable repute. The rendering didn’t stop at that, Senator Nazif also said that “Mallam Isa Yuguda is a betrayer of the people of Bauchi State”, also asserting that “the Governor of Bauchi deceitfully invited all of them to come back home and put their heads together by brain storming to positively plot a new chart for the resurgence of a new developed Bauchi. He sought their advice on how meaningful development will be brought to State, but contrary to seeking for advice on how to move the State forward, Yuguda never paid any particular notice to the plethora of advice given to him by this group of persons. From all indication if Yuguda is given an advice today, by the next day, his attention would have been diverted from that advice by some scrupulous persons; Nazif also maintained that Yuguda is not straight forward”.
When serious minded individuals come out to address issues based on inordinate governance, they are labeled as discontented elements, et al.
Rather than address the issues raised, the current administration comes out to say that the constructive criticism we profess are intolerable, undignified and devious. This mostly occurs due to the true nature of most of the assertions against Yuguda, just like this one that was asserted against him by Senator Nazif. In the same light, it is this truth that we intend to continue to acknowledge disregarding who feels the brunt of our humane actions.
Most of what was asserted to by Senator Nazif is in furtherance of many citizens’ efforts in ensuring that the good people of Bauchi are completely free from the covetousness of the current administration in Bauchi and its relative under-performance.
If a leader has chosen to take the responsibilities of his people upon himself then it is only right that the leader is held accountable for his/her actions predicated on the level of responsibility bestowed by the people on the leader without any prejudice whatsoever. Evidently, like Senator Nazif we have taken it upon ourselves as a way to ensure that the Yuguda administration must do what is right by providing the dividends of democracy to the citizens of Bauchi, and also like Nazif, I will not praise Yuguda for his ineptness and most of all his lack-luster performance in ameliorating the suffering of the impoverished people of Bauchi State.
The assertions by Senator Nazif are just clear attestations to the inherent qualities of Yuguda that can be verified by a cross section of citizens of Bauchi State that are reeling from the current administration’s incompetence; but now more than ever the good people of Bauchi are more politically conscious and they will not be deceived, hoodwinked and taken on a goose ride by any person and group of persons whatsoever. What is most disturbing is that the only viable projects that are clearly visible in Bauchi State are those completed and commissioned by the former Governor Adamu Ahmed Mua’zu who had laid the basic foundation (Massive facilities/Infrastructures) for future Governors to build upon, of which the current administration has failed to take advantage of the hard work and diligence of the former administration of Mua’zu by consolidating on these gains. Ostensibly, Yuguda’s administration will always be judged on the basis of performance vis-à-vis his predecessor, Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu.
