Lagos state governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on Friday told motorists parking indiscriminately on the busy Agege-Oshodi expressway which link the Murtala Mohammed International Airport road, that the state government would no longer tolerate the unauthorized act that is already threatening a return of the notorious congestion along the express road.
In an unscheduled visit to the a part of the road, Fashola warned that the authority would have no choice but to deploy men of the state traffic agency, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to restore sanity in the area, which is becoming a marketplace for car dealers.
Fashola said “it was wrong for anybody to take the law into their own hand by parking their cars along the road”
Addressing police officers on duty, he adviced them on the need to contribute their best to maintain law and order in the state, explaining that it is wrong for anybody to apportion to himself any part of the road for business or as a car park which is not covered by the laws of the land.
The governor urged the military personnel to do all they could to ensure that traffic along the Airport Road is maintained to avoid congestion.
The governor urged owners of abandoned vehicles to remove them within the next 24 hours warning that failure to remove the cars will force the state government to tow them away.
Responding, the military officers promised to abide by the directive of the governor disclosing that they have already started removing the cars blocking the access road.

Meanwhile, there is anxiety that most of the cars along the road will be towed by the Lagos State Task Force on transportation, which is poised to ensure that there is seamless flow of traffic along the airport and its environs.
