Empowering Nigerian women via Shea butter production

Shea butter is a blessing from God to my community; I like everything about it, although the process of producing it is very cumbersome.

The electoral process begins with the promulgation of the electoral law and delimitation of constituencies or electoral districts and registration of voters. It progresses through the intervening stages and terminates with the final adjudication of election disputes or petitions preparation for the conduct of a poll in which the mass of the people participate, involves, inter alia, the following processes, each of which has to be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions of the electoral law. The 'Fatima' Formula Elections in Nigeria were invariably based on the demarcation of the country into single-                member lectoral constituencies, each returning a member. In 1979, elections in the country was divided into 1347 states constituencies and 449 federal constituencies (the 450th being reserved for the new federal capital - Abuja). Using the 1963 census figure of the country, 55,670,005, a federal constituency contains about 124,000 people whilst a state constituency had 41,270 people. About 50% of the population represents the people of voting age of 18 years and above i.e. about 20,635 were qualified to vote in an average state constituency.

Registration of political parties

One of the major functions and responsibilities of the electoral commission is to register political parties that will participate in the electoral process. It is expected to determine the eligibility of such political parties to sponsor candidate for all the elections.
