Day entertainers had a feel of Mr. Goodluck

If anyone taught Mr President how to make people laugh, he did a good job. And the president made a better job of it. The one who delivers to the letter deserves the greater honor anyway. And it was entertainers themselves he made to laugh, a fitting thing done in the right place, to the right people. He had gone all the way out to honour the foremost of them, the one who started out the youngest, the prince of the entertainment industry,  Ben Murray Bruce, Silverbird’s boss.

Fulani poet’s works threatens his life bare at AWF’s guest writer session

Not many things can be done successfully without passion. The Fulani poet, Kabura Zakama should know, and he showed much of it, at the October edition of Abuja Writers’ Forum (AWF’s) Guest Writer Session. “My first effort at writing poems was an attempt to express my feelings; so many of the poems you find in this book are very personal. When you read them, you read part of my life,” was how Dr Zakama began when he took the ‘hot seat’  at the Pen and Pages venue of the event in Abuja. The personal angle to his works proved as an issue many in the audience would take up. But the usual AWF treats had preceded the guest writers’ interaction with his listeners.

 

We’re keeping girls off the streets, says MBGA director

The Project Director of the Most Beautiful Girl in Abuja (MBGA) pageant, Ejiro Okipihwo, has said that the pageant was targeted at keeping Nigerian girls off the streets. Okipihwo, who is also the CEO, Dolce entertainment, stated this while briefing newsmen on the just concluded event, in Abuja

World Tourism Day in Kwara

Oro: The edifices, the myth of a town Recently, Kwara state joined the rest of the world to mark this year’s World Tourism Week. This was organised and hosted by Black Culture and Art Festival foundation (BCAAF) in partnership with Kingstone Group of Hotels and MTN Nigeria.  The event tagged: “Tourism and Biodiversity” raised the value and awareness of cultural tourism in Kwara state and exposed the rich cultural heritage to the outside world.
