We’re commited to troops welfare — Army

The Nigeria Army will continue to give top priority to the welafer of its officers and men, says the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Army Welfare Holdings limited (AWHL) Major General Sabo Rilwanu.

He made the statement recently at the headquarters of 82 Division of the Nigeria Army, in Enugu while briefing officers and soldiers on the benefits accrued to them while in service and in retirement.

N23bn paid to military pensioners, says Defence minister

Military pensioners in the country have so far been paid N23 billion as arrears of their pension, says the Minister of Defence Olatokumbo Kayode (SAN).

He made the disclosure yesterady while inspecting the newly built Miliatry Pension Board (MPB) Headquarters, which will soon be commissioned by President Goodluck Jonathan on November 19, 2010.
