Driver in court for violating traffic rule

The police have dragged one Wasiu Ajibola, to a Magistrate Court for driving recklessly, thereby endangering the lives of other road users.

Ajibola, 32, is facing trial on a one-count charge of dangerous and reckless driving, which contravened Sections 27 (1) 29 of the Road Traffic Acts (RTA).

 

Council pledges to rehabilitate deplorable roads

Gwagwalada Area Council said it has concluded arrangement to award  contract for rehabilitation of the roads linking Eco Bank and the council secretariat.

The Council Secretary, Alhaji Usman Yahaya, who disclosed this to journalists in Gwagwalada, pledged   that the council would continue to do its best towards ensuring that resident of the council are not denied dividends of democracy.

 

Fraudster nabbed for buying cars with dud cheque

A Motor Company,  Ineh Mic, narrowly escaped falling prey to the antic of a con man, Mr. Jidedia Ezenwa, for the second time, as he attempted to buy six brand new Prada jeeps with a dud cheque.

The suspect had in April, taken delivery of 15 brand new cars from three different motor companies, including Ineh Mic, at the Abuja Motor Fair, after presenting   a dud cheque to the companies.

 

Two arraigned for stealing from hotel

Two men, Maxwell Terzugwe  Ajayi and Elvis Bassey, have been arraigned  before an Abuja Magistrate Court, for breaking into a Hotel  in Wuse,  Zone 5,  carting away N550,000 and property  worth N240,000, belonging to a guest.

FCTA lacks proper framework for resettlement, says indigenes

The Gbagyi people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have accused the FCT administration of embarking on a resettlement programme short of an appropriate framework.

Representative of the indigenes in Abuja, Mr. lazarus Nyaholo, made the remark at the weekend, during an interview with select journalists.

 

Resettlement programme: FCTA solicits support from NIPSS

 

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),         Senator Bala Mohammed, has solicited for help from graduates of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), in resettlement of the indigenous people of the FCT.

 Senator Mohammed, who made the call when he received graduating participants of Course 32 of the institute, during a courtesy call, called for active collaborate with the FCT in capacity-building.

 

Finance ministry employee docked for fraud

An  employee of the Federal Ministry of Finance,  Abdulrahim Muda,  was yesterday, arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court for criminal breach of trust and cheating.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Isaika Raheem, the nominal complainant, one Uche Goodluck, reported to the Central Police Station that about 5 months ago, the accused introduced him to one Sam, a Visa agent and three others now at large.

 

27-year-old man charged with fraud

A 27-year-old man, John Nkwunda, of Angwan cement, Life Camp, Abuja, appeared before a magistrates’ court, charged with defrauding one Mr Tunde Adenuga of N320,000.

The prosecutor, Cpl. Emmanuel Adikwu, told the court that Nkwunda colluded with four others to collect the amount from Adenuga under the pretext of supplying him with oil filaments.
