The banker and pauper

Once upon a time there lived a pauper and a banker. The first was as poor as the second was rich. So it was inevitable that the rich man will be happier than the pauper. But their natures were opposite, for the poor man was happy whereas the banker was not. The banker was annoyed of the fact that while he tossed and turned in his bed at night, the pauper slept peacefully and always awoke rested and full of energy.

 

The feast of sacrifice

The boy looks up lovingly at his father, despite the knife in his father's hand - a knife which, he believes, will soon end his life. A grimace of pain is hidden behind the father's beard. The father ignores the ethereal whispers that surround him, coming from the very devil himself, urging him to desist. He knows what must be done.

 

The looters of Gold Cave city

There lived a city called Gold Cave, a land blessed with precious stones. One morning, the people of Gold Cave woke up and found everything had disappeared.  They became lazy and adopted cheating as a means of livelihood.

 

Shaikh Usman Dan Fodio

Sheikh Uthman bn Fodio was born in Maratta in December 1754. The name Foduye is his father’s epithet, which is a Fulfulde word meaning “the learned” and the word “Dan” is Hausa meaning“son of”. The family of Sheikh Uthman bn Fodio is well known for Islamic scholarship.
