A Senatorial candidate in Taraba-Central on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Tutare, has filed a suit against the party, challenging the cancellation of his election and order for a re-run.
The suit, which was filed in a Taraba state High Court, is to obtain an injunction, to restrain the PDP National Secretariat from conducting the scheduled re-run primaries in the zone.
Speaking to Peoples Daily, Tutare said, no reason was given for the cancellation of the primaries, which according to him, was conducted credibly and peacefully.
"I doubt if there will be any re-run primary. However, my case is before the court," he said.
Tutare said he was in not in any way distracted by the decision of the party, as he has continued with his campaigns.
