From Inumidun Ojelade, Ibadan

Thousands of Oyo workers who marched towards the government secretariat to mobilise their colleagues into the on-going strike called by the Caretaker Committee set up after the sack of the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state, were yesterday dispersed by soldiers and Police at the Agodi government house.
The workers had gathered at the labour house and moved in a procession for the but were resisted by the security agents who manned the entrance to the state secretariat.People around the precinct of secretariat were also driven away by the security operatives.
Heavy traffic jam also formed on the road in the area making it difficult for non-civil servants, including journalists, to gain access into the secretariat, as people were subjected to thorough search even after showing their identities.
Some civil servants  hurriedly closed their offices and vacated the secretariat in droves around 1:00 p.m.
It would be recalled that, workers had rejected the government salary scale signed by their deposed executives and last week Friday sacked and replaced them with a caretaker committee headed by Bayo Akande.
