From Sam Egwu, Lokoja
Opposition Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has filed a suit at the a Lokoja high court, seeking the nullification of governorship election conducted on December 3, 2011 which Governor Idris Wada was declared winner.
According to the party, the judgment of the Supreme Court on January 27, 2012 sacking five governors, including Kogi state showed that the election was a nullity.
The suit stated that the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Abdulahi Bello should assume the office of the governor and that fresh election should be conducted in the state.
Joined in the suit are the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Idris Wada and his deputy ,Yomi Awoniyi and Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC).
