Heavyweight Shannon Briggs is staying in the hospital because of an injury to his left biceps from his weekend loss to Vitali Klitschko. Briggs lost the WBC title fight by unanimous decision but did not go down despite being pounded by his Ukrainian opponent Saturday.
Shannon Briggs suffered concussion and fractured cheekbones during his WBC heavyweight title fight against Vitali Klitschko on Saturday night. The 38-year-old American challenger was hospitalised immediately after the fight in Hamburg, Germany. Klitschko won on points: 120-107, 120-107 and 120-105.
