Man bags two months for stealing car stereo

The Police in Abuja, have arraigned, a 26-year-old, Vincent Adebayo, for breaking into a stationary car and stealing the car stereo.

 

No woman president any time soon – FCT ACN Chairman

The FCT Chairman of Action Congress of Nigeria (CAN) ,  Mr Sunny Monidafie, said in Abuja on Sunday that he was still not convinced that women were ready to lead the country in the foreseeable future. Monidafie told the News  Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Nigerian women in politics were their own worst enemies.

 

Woman carts away money, locks up friend in hotel

One Ramatu Suleiman, of No. 33, Ibrahim Abacha Estate, Wuse Zone 4, is being tried by a Magistrate Court in Abuja for locking her friend, Farida Ibrahim, in a hotel room in Wuse 2, and disappearing with key to the room.

 

Abuja Boulevard: US firm to employ over 10, 000 workers

United State based  firm, Balkan Center Development Group of Companies, which recently,  offered to invest, N384 billion( $2.6 billion), towards actualising  the proposed Abuja Town Centre (boulevard),  said it would employ more than 10,000 semi-professional and un-skilled workers, when the project takes off.

 

 

 

The President of the Balkan Group, Mr. Gene Philips, said during a meeting with the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed that aside this, the company would employ thousands of other professionals  when the project takes off, January,  next year.

He said: "The Company has projected that upon take-off; the project is expected to employ thousands of Nigerian professionals, as well as upwards of 10,000 semi-professional and unskilled workers." 

The boulevard, which is intended to be the entertainment hub of the FCT, according to him, when completed, is estimated to have an economic impact which will run in trillions of dollars and last to serve future generations of Nigerians. 

The project, covering investment in real estate, power generation internal infrastructure and so on, he said, would be completed in six years.

It would be recalled  that the FCT minister, recently, set up a committee, headed by the Minister of State for FCT, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, to study and make recommendations on the  proposals of the company project.

FCTA doles out items worth millions to the less privileged

Items worth millions of naira have been distributed to inmates in   Abuja Children's Home, in Karu, Unity Orphanage Gwagwalada, as well as Kuje Prison and Karimajigi handicapped settlement.

This is part of gesture of the FCT administration; towards giving the less privileged in the territory a sense of belonging, especially during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

 

Eid-el-Kabir: Minister tasks residents on nation building

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, has urged Abuja residents and other Nigerians, to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations to reflect on the individual sacrifice they can make towards moving the country to another level, developmental wise.

 Senator Mohammed made the call when he paid Sallah homage to President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in the Aso Villa.
