United State based firm, Balkan Center Development Group of Companies, which recently, offered to invest, N384 billion( $2.6 billion), towards actualising the proposed Abuja Town Centre (boulevard), said it would employ more than 10,000 semi-professional and un-skilled workers, when the project takes off.
The President of the Balkan Group, Mr. Gene Philips, said during a meeting with the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed that aside this, the company would employ thousands of other professionals when the project takes off, January, next year.
He said: "The Company has projected that upon take-off; the project is expected to employ thousands of Nigerian professionals, as well as upwards of 10,000 semi-professional and unskilled workers."
The boulevard, which is intended to be the entertainment hub of the FCT, according to him, when completed, is estimated to have an economic impact which will run in trillions of dollars and last to serve future generations of Nigerians.
The project, covering investment in real estate, power generation internal infrastructure and so on, he said, would be completed in six years.
It would be recalled that the FCT minister, recently, set up a committee, headed by the Minister of State for FCT, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, to study and make recommendations on the proposals of the company project.
