Ndi Okereke, NSE council members share N1.2bn, Dangote refunds N40m

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) audited financial statement for 2009 released by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)  has revealed that the   disbanded  25 council members collectively shared N1.2 billion as bonus with  former Director-General, Dr. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke taking the lion share of N50 million.

 

Dangote shareholders smile home with N22bn dividend

Shareholders of Dangote Group Plc yesterday went home smiling with an impressive dividend payout of N22 billion.  The Dangote flour mills alone paid dividend of N4 billion just as plan has been finalised to begin direct and indirect exports of its products into neighboring countries like Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Sudan.

 

FIRS compels tax collecting banks to deposit treasury bills as guarantee

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has come up with a novel means of checkmating problem of trapped funds in the collecting banks.  It announced yesterday that, collecting banks designated to receive tax remittances are now required to deposit treasury bills with the Central bank of Nigeria as means of security for taxes collected by them.

 

Banking stocks boost transactions on NSE

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) maintained upbeat trend yesterday with a total of 557.70 million shares valued at N5.515 billion traded in 6,275 deals.

 

UBA raises N20bn to deepen capital base

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has provided an insight into a N20 billion bond facility it raised recently saying the funds is meant to strengthen its capital base.
