Chairman of Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Mr. Anthony Abolarin said the society’s forthcoming international conference and exhibition will proffer solutions to problems in the oil and gas sector.
A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report quoted Abolarin as saying in Lagos on Wednesday. He said President Goodluck Jonathan and some experts in the oil and gas sector would be at the conference.
He said that experts from Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea and Uganda would also participate in the conference.
Abolarin said the conference would be an avenue for engineers and stakeholders in the industry to come together to chart a new course for the progress of the sector.
He sought the support of stakeholders and companies in the sector for the success of the conference.
He said that SPE was the largest organisation of professionals in the oil and gas sector in Nigeria.
“With a membership of over 2,000 professionals in Nigeria, it provides a global forum for the exchange of technology to meet the world’s energy needs today and in the future,” Abolarin said.
The conference, tagged “Nigerian Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE 2010)”, will take place in Calabar between July 31 and Aug. 7
