Group condemns Ciroma over his comment on Jonathan

By Musa Adamu

The Jonathan/Sambo Vanguard, (JSV), one the  groups calling on President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice- President Namadi Sambo to  contest the 2011 presidential  election, has condemned the former Finance Minister, Alhaji Adamu Ciroma over his statement that if Jonathan contest 2011 presidential election, it would amount to Obasanjo’s term third.
A statement issued by the Nasarawa state Coordinator of JSV, Comrade Idris Adamu, said the former minister was the wrong person to make such statement as he was never known to have groomed anybody from his state to succeed him.
He accused Ciroma of propping up his wife as his successor when he became tired of being in government.
He alleged that while Ciroma had been in government since 1960’s, it was difficult for anyone to point at any thing he had done the North he claimed to be championing its course today.
“We call on all well-meaning Nigerians to disregard his statement and continue to work for those who can turn around the fortune of the country for good, irrespective of where they come from.  What Nigerians need is a President that will resuscitate our grounded infrastructure so that our industries may come back on their feets and continue to employ our teeming youths that Ciroma and his people have rendered useless over the years,” he pleaded.
Ciroma was quoted in one of the national dailies last Saturday to have likened President Jonathan ambition to Obasanjo’s tenure elongation attempt.
