A group, Coalition of Youths Against Corruption (COYAC), yesterday, exonerated the Kebbi state Governor, Alhaji Sa'idu Nasamu Dakingari, from corruption charges levelled against him, saying it is a "cheap blackmail and orchestration of falsehood against the governor."
COYAC, in a statement signed by its President and General Secretary Omoba Kenneth Aigbegbele and Malam Salisu Yusuf, respectively, noted that the development was a fallout of lingering crisis between the governor and the Local government chairmen over tenureship for the chairmen.
The statement noted: “Having stone quizzed all ramifications of Dakingari's administration and found nothing to indict the governor, COYAC finds it bizarre, baffling and shocking that such hatchet and mischievous petition will be written against a due process and God-fearing administration.
“Without mincing words, COYAC states categorically, that its indices and assessment of corruption spread all over the country, did not capture Kebbi state. COYAC therefore gives high scores and passes vote of confidence on Dakigari's administration on anti-corruption crusade for sticking strictly to transparency and due process measures and regular publication of its statement of accounts and finances.”
