The Federation of India Chamber of Commerce is facilitating an investment worth $2billion (about N294 billion) into the Nigeria’s economy, Deaconess Linda Olisa-Middleton, the Chief Executive Officer, African Theatrical project and Founder of Kaleidoscope has disclosed.
The $2 billion investment covers power sector, communications, transportation and mining. Deaconess Linda whose office has been interfacing with the Federation of India Chamber of Commerce confirmed the level of investment in a chat with finance correspondents yesterday in Abuja.
She spoke against the backdrop of the forthcoming 7th annual Kaleidoscope, where more than 25 international investors have signified interest to participate .The event comes up in Abuja between 18th and 19th of August.
She explained that her foundation had participated in various international fora where it seized the opportunity to disabuse the mind set of some international investors that Nigeria had a close policy attitude to investors. She lamented that Nigeria was unable to utilise the opportunity provided by African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) to penetrate United States market with its exported product at duty free-rate.
Linda said Nigeria is blessed with abundant human and material resources adding that what is required is to look inward to discover the potentials.
On the scope of participation in the 7th annual Kaleidoscope, she said the event would afford both the international agencies and private sectors the opportunity to broaden visibility of their vision, products and services in the best possible ways.
