From Bayo Alabira, Jos
The Pauline Tallen Campaign Organisation (PATCO), has disassociated itself from the abusive leaflets and flyers allegedly set to be released soon in Jos, the Plateau state capital, saying the Deputy Governor, Mrs Pauline Tallen, was not disposed to playing politics of bitterness.
The Protem Director General of the organisation, Mr. Alex Kwapnoe, said in a statement, that the call became necessary, following information reaching it that some leaflets have been printed and are about to be issued in its name castigating Governor Jonah David Jang.
He said PATCO would not resort to crude methods, which are totally reprehensible and should not be allowed in the 21st century where the politics of issues and ideas is holding sway.
The Tallen campaign team emphasised that its principle has never been to fight dirty or resort to the campaigns of calumny, but that its campaign was based on issues.
Kwapnoe said Tallen depends on God and was aware of the fact power belongs to God and he gives anyone he so desires.
According to the statement, for any one that has the interest of the state at heart, this is not the time to overheat the polity just as the campaign team called on the need for restraints and decency among aspirants.
He however, thanked other aspirants in the PDP for rallying round Chief Damishi Sango when he declared his intention to run as governor of the state last Monday.
